We are experiencing big difficulties in predicting the next MOS. Unfortunately, for reasons largely beyond our control and due to bureaucratic delays, we were unable to obtain permissions for the two locations that we had chosen.
We used all our strength to be able to solve the problems, but now we are sadly forced to cancel the date for MOS Venice 2012. We understand that it is a very bad news, but we will not give up, we are passionate about MOS for years. In fact, the difficulty of finding new legal walls and bureaucratic obstacles are inversely proportional to the high volume of abandoned places that in Mestre, they would need a new life.
We’ll try this operation as we have identified an area that has been entirely degraded, but potentially perfect for painting and host a MOS. This would be an event where graffiti would become a tool to give back to the community a dead place, especially in a city like Mestre-Marghera, marked by the ruins of the industrial past. Urban Code has the social network to embark on this venture, and our institutional partners would probably support the operation. 2013 the event shall be linked to Headlines, an international project that we attend with Sale-Docks (independent center for art in Venice).
The association with Headlines will ensure MOS more international artists, more visibility and legitimacy.
So we reiterate our regret for this complicated situation, but we are convinced that a setback may arise a chance of improvement.
