More Than a Festival. A Global Network.
Meeting of Styles was never created to become just another graffiti festival.
It started with a simple idea: bringing artists together, creating spaces for free expression and proving that graffiti can build bridges where others create borders.
The story began in the mid-1990s in Wiesbaden, Germany. An abandoned industrial area known as the Schlachthof became one of Europeโs most legendary Hall of Fames, offering thousands of square meters where artists from around the world could paint, exchange ideas and push each other creatively.
When plans were announced to demolish the area, artists refused to let this unique place disappear without making a statement.
In 1997, the International Wall Street Meeting was born.
What began as an act of cultural resistance quickly evolved into something much bigger. Every summer, hundreds of artists from different countries came togetherโnot to compete, but to collaborate. Together they transformed the walls, exchanged techniques, built friendships and demonstrated that graffiti is far more than paint on concrete. It is communication. It is culture. It is community.
Although the Schlachthof could not ultimately be saved, its spirit lived on.
Inspired by the overwhelming response and the friendships created over those years, the International Meeting of Styles Network was founded in 2002 to carry that idea across the world.
Since then, the Meeting of Styles family has grown into one of the largest and longest-running international graffiti networks.
Over nearly three decades of history, the network has helped realize around 500 events across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia and beyond, bringing together approximately 50,000 participating artists and inspiring hundreds of thousands of visitors. Every event adds another chapter to a story that continues to be written by the artists themselves.
Built by Artists. Driven by Community.
Meeting of Styles has never been about promoting a single style, trend or generation.
The name says it all: a meeting of styles.
Classic graffiti writers paint next to mural artists. Young talents share walls with pioneers. Local crews collaborate with international guests. Different backgrounds, different techniques and different perspectives come together to create something that could never happen alone.
The network exists to encourage exchange, cooperation and mutual respect. It creates opportunities for artists to learn from one another, discover new places, experience different cultures and build friendships that often last far beyond a single event.
Many collaborations, international projects and lifelong connections have started with nothing more than sharing a wall during a Meeting of Styles weekend.
More Than Events
Meeting of Styles is a non-profit initiative built by passionate artists, organizers and volunteers who believe in the power of creativity to connect people.
In a world that often builds walls between cultures, MOS has always chosen to paint on them instead.
The network stands for openness, collaboration and cultural exchange. It is driven by the belief that knowledge grows when it is shared, creativity grows when people connect and graffiti remains one of the most universal languages spoken around the world.
