After Mexicali and Mexico DF we are happy to put another mexican city on the map – Guadalajara.
Guadalajara is the capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco in the western-pacific area of Mexico. The Metropolitan Area includes seven municipalities with a reported population of 4.3 millions people making it the second most populous metropolitan area in Mexico, behind Mexico City.
The city is the cultural center of Mexico, considered by most to be the home of Mariachi music. It hosts a number of large-scale cultural events such as the International Film Festival, International Book Fair and a number of globally renowned cultural events.
The city is named after the Spanish city of Guadalajara, with the name originating from the Arabic word wādi l-ḥijāra (واد الحجارة or وادي الحجارة) the literal translation of the Iberian name Arriaca, meaning “Valley of stones”.
Guadalajara-City-Today
The place to be is the address: Av Washington between Fedarismo and ChapultepecThe spot itself is pretty much like the spot in Mexico City. It is easy to find on the net, very central and emerges from the light Railwy Station Mezquitán. As you can see it is almost a block around the cemetery and, very large.
