Meeting of Styles Jamaica 2025 – Healing Thoughts Through Art
Art has the power to speak where words fall short. From December 11–15, 2025, this belief became visible on the walls of Tivoli Gardens, Kingston, as Meeting of Styles Jamaica 2025 unfolded under the theme “Healing Thoughts Through Art.” The project was supported by the German Embassy in Kingston as main sponsor, supported by the embassies of Belgium, Finland, Canada, and Slovakia, alongside partners such as Kwik Errect, whose contributions helped turn vision into reality.
Reflecting on the deeper meaning of the initiative, German Ambassador Jan Hendrik van Thiel captured its essence:
“This is diplomacy at its finest—bringing people together, creating positive energy, and building something beautiful that helps develop the community.”
Over five days, Tivoli Gardens became a place of encounter. 25 international street artists worked shoulder to shoulder with 25 Jamaican artists, sharing techniques, stories, and perspectives while transforming the neighborhood with large-scale murals.
The works that emerged were not merely paintings on walls, but collective expressions shaped by dialogue, trust, and shared experience. A defining symbol of this spirit was the monumental collective wall created by 17 artists from 12 countries, standing as a testament to unity beyond borders. 
At the heart of the project was the community itself. Children and young people were invited into the creative process—painting, learning, and discovering new ways to see their surroundings and themselves. This spirit of movement and freedom was echoed by the Jamaican Skate Initiative, whose skateboarding workshops brought energy, play, and youth culture into the streets, reminding everyone that creativity can take many forms.
The project grew through collaboration and shared responsibility. Meeting of Styles provided its international platform and artistic network, Children 4 Change strengthened youth engagement and international dialogue, and the Tivoli Gardens Mural Project anchored the initiative locally—ensuring trust, continuity, and deep integration within the community.

Connection extended beyond the walls during the artists’ meet & greet at Trini Yaad, where artists, organizers, partners, and friends gathered in an atmosphere of openness and shared purpose. In that moment, boundaries between local and international, artist and supporter, dissolved—leaving only conversation and the quiet understanding that something meaningful was unfolding.
The journey culminated in a guided walk through Tivoli Gardens, where completed murals spoke for themselves. Together, they carried a simple but powerful message: art can heal, art can connect, art can transform. Meeting of Styles Jamaica 2025 did not seek quick change, but planted something lasting—strengthening relationships, reshaping perceptions, and moving one step closer toward a long-term vision of Tivoli Gardens as a living Art District.
