Morty is a multidisciplinary artist from Toronto, Canada most significantly known for his murals, and graffiti art. Using funny scenes with strange characters he reveals layers of himself. He uses elements of nature and technology to imagine worlds inside the mind. These themes are continued in his studio practice as a painter, sculptor, and digital illustrator.
Seen in the tunnels, bridges, and alleyways of Toronto, while also in Florence, Italy his past projects have been commissioned by street art organizations, private collectors and developers.
His process begins by looking back to primary school, as he rapidly sketches on huge sheets of paper. These drawings of people, machines, robots, plants and letters eventually grow to cover his desk, and today he sketches everywhere he goes. His quick expressions evoke honesty, and inspire what he paints on walls.
