My name is Teuta, and I create under the name Teutie Pie. I am a multidisciplinary artist working with traditional bead weaving, crafting intricate, wearable art and spray painting in an illustrative style to bring murals to life in London’s streets. My work is driven by themes of femininity – specifically reclaiming the sweetness, playfulness and ‘girly’ aesthetic that many young women feel pressured to abandon. I embrace rich pink colour pallets and nostalgic motifs to challenge shame often tied to femininity. Recently, I have been exploring how my Albanian heritage and second-generation immigrant experience shape my perspective on gender norms. The tension between tradition and personal identity informs my latest pieces, blending beadwork and street art in unexpected ways.
