Ilicitana by birth and Catalan by adoption. Debra Espinosa is a stage designer who left the theatre in exchange for the walls.
A storyteller. Her works are designed as projects, generated as complex and intricate dramaturgies, that allow talking about topics such as abuse, sexuality, historical memory or the complexity of human behavior and its consequences.
After a brief stint at Fine Arts, she entered the Scenography Specialty at the Institut del Teatre, from which she graduated in 2007.
After a few years working in the alternative scene in Barcelona, she decided to return to illustration and painting.
In 2010 she finished her MA in Urban Arts at the University of Barcelona.
Since then she has been part of the international collective Microgalleries, a collective focused on urban art as a catalyst for social and political art, where she has worked as a mentor and illustrator.
Exhibited in various group exhibitions and painted murals in London, Bogota, Bologna, Munich, Sabadell, Badalona and Barcelona, participating in street art festivals such as: Valvules & Ritmes, Bloomart Festival, Cheap Festival, Hands off the Wall Festival, MonarโT.
Currently member of Artefakto Collective.
