Danielle is a New York artist who has been painting murals locally, nationally and internationally since 2012. Danielle is a self-taught muralist who began at the historic 5POINTZ in Queens. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design.
Her unique storytelling style when mural painting often focuses on the history of a place; she translates this visually through portraits, animals, local legends, landmarks, landscapes, flora, fauna, quotes, sayings, phrases, dates – anything to tell the story of the place she is painting.
Danielle’s mural work ranges from small walls to large scale mural projects. Her largest wall to date was a 5-story project in Springfield, Ill at the new HUB Transportation Center; she also completed a 2250 sq foot “Welcome to Coney Island” mural outside of the Stillwell Avenue Train Station, and an 1800 sq foot mural at Edward R Murrow High School. Danielle had the honor of painting an entire 4 sided building as the entrance mural for Shirley Chisholm State Park in Brooklyn in collaboration with the New York State Governor’s Office and the State Parks organization. Her well-known ‘Biggie’ mural is 12 years old and the longest running mural at The Bushwick Collective.
In 2019, Danielle was the cover artwork artist for the 30th Anniversary of Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing”; Her murals cover the outside of Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and A Mule studio in Brooklyn, as well as several other locations throughout Brooklyn.
Her latest walls can be found throughout her home neighborhood, Coney Island Brooklyn. Danielle has completed over 15 murals in the neighborhood while working with many Brooklyn-based neighborhood organizations including The Atlantic Avenue BID, The Flatbush-Junction BID, and The Coney Island Alliance.
She works with many schools, shelters, youth-based mentoring and teaching organizations such as NYC Thrive, Projectivity, Creative Artworks, Art Bridge and Art Start; She continues to work as a teaching mural artist with student collaborators.
In 2019, Danielle was chosen by Next Level USA – a Hip-Hop focused teaching and mentorship program run by the State Department’s Office Of Cultural Affairs through the Meridian Center to represent the USA as a Cultural Ambassador in Aerosol Art.
Danielle was also featured in Nike’s 30th Anniversary commercial for the Air Max 90 by Footlocker and Footlocker Women. She was part of a Netflix mural campaign for the series “Social Distance” in 2020. Her work has been featured in the A&E channel’s “In Focus” artist series; the ‘No Free Walls” documentary, the award winning “Street Heroines” documentary.
Last year, Danielle was invited to and honored in Washington DC for her aerosol work by the First Lady, and her NYC-themed canvas is the only aerosol piece ever hung in the White House.
