Everyday art or art in everyday life – street art shapes urban life and reacts and comments on the zeitgeist. As part of the art summer, the Meeting of Styles interacts with Fluxus, connects artists with urban action spaces and passers-by – MOS meets Fluxus/Fluxus meets MOS.
With the support of the Wiesbaden Cultural Office, MEETING OF STYLES organizes the painting of four cubes in the city area by artists from Finland, Germany and Belgium at different places and times. The works of art are designed together with passers-by. Anyone who wants to can set an example here and try out the spray can. Just drop by, get to know the artists and try them out!

Fluxus (from Latin fluxus ‘to flow, river’, to fluere ‘to flow, to pass’) is an art movement founded by George Maciunas (1931-1978), in which it is not the work of art that matters, but the creative idea. Fluxus became widely known in the 1960s. After Dadaism, Fluxus was the second elemental attack on the work of art in the traditional sense, which was negated and considered a bourgeois fetish.
After the Fluxus movement was founded by George Maciunas in New York in 1961 as a project for an art newspaper, the art movement established itself in Germany a year later with the Wiesbaden Festival of Newest Music, thanks to Maciunas.
Alltägliche Kunst oder Kunst im Alltag – Street Art prägt städtisches Leben und reagiert und kommentiert den Zeitgeist. Im Rahmen des Kunstsommers interagiert das Meeting of Styles mit Fluxus, vernetzt Künstlerinnen mit städtischen Aktionsplätzen und Passant:innen – MOS meets Fluxus/Fluxus meets MOS.
MEETING OF STYLES veranstaltet mit Unterstützung vom Kulturamt Wiesbaden die Bemalung von vier Würfeln im Stadtbereich durch Künstlerinnen aus Finnland, Deutschland und Belgien an verschiedenen Orten, zu verschiedenen Zeiten. Die Kunstwerke werden gemeinsam mit Passanten gestaltet. Jeder der möchte kann hier ein Zeichen setzen und sich an der Sprühdose ausprobieren. Einfach vorbeikommen, die Künstlerinnen kennen lernen und ausprobieren!

Fluxus (nach lateinisch fluxus ‚Fließen, Fluss‘, zu fluere ‚fließen, vergehn‘) ist eine von George Maciunas (1931–1978) begründete Kunstrichtung, bei der es nicht auf das Kunstwerk ankommt, sondern auf die schöpferische Idee. Fluxus wurde in den 1960er Jahren weithin bekannt. Nach dem Dadaismus war Fluxus der zweite elementare Angriff auf das Kunstwerk im herkömmlichen Sinn, das negiert wurde und als bürgerlicher Fetisch galt.
Nachdem die Fluxus-Bewegung 1961 in New York von George Maciunas als Vorhaben für eine Kunstzeitung begründet worden war, etablierte sich die Kunstrichtung mit den Wiesbadener Festspielen Neuester Musik ein Jahr später durch Maciunas auch in Deutschland.
