Europe’s Elite Dancers Converge in Mainz: The Breaking Newz Battle Returns for Round 3!
The urban dance scene in the Rhine-Main area is about to hit its absolute peak. On Saturday, August 29, 2026, the highly anticipated Breaking Newz Battle returns to Mainz for its massive third edition. Dancers and hip-hop enthusiasts from all across Europe will gather at the iconic Haus der Jugend (Mitternachtsgasse 8, 55116 Mainz) for an unforgettable day of high-octane battles, cyphers, and community vibes.
Running from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, this 10-hour non-stop street dance spectacle promises to elevate the culture to new heights.
The Battle Categories & Prize Pools
This year, the stakes are higher than ever, featuring diverse categories that give both seasoned veterans and the next generation of dancers a platform to shine:
- 2 vs 2 Breaking Pro: The main event. Elite duos will go head-to-head for a massive €800 grand prize (2nd place: €200).
- 1 vs 1 Allstyle: A true test of versatility where different street dance styles clash. First place takes home €200 (2nd place: €100).
- 1 vs 1 B-Girl: Celebrating the fierce women of the breaking world with a €100 prize for the champion.
- Seven 2 Powermove: A dynamic, fast-paced battle focusing strictly on gravity-defying power moves. Winner takes €100.
- 2 vs 2 Breaking Kids: The future of the scene showcases their skills. Top spot wins €80 + special non-cash prizes, while second place takes home €20 and merch.

To keep the energy explosive and the competition fair, the event has locked in a star-studded lineup of scene pioneers:
On the Decks: The legendary DJ F-One (@djfone.slc) will be spinning the sharpest breakbeats and funk grooves to keep the cyphers burning.
