My name is Hannah Webb, though I use the art alias The Obanoth on social media. Iโm a professional artist living in Los Angeles, California. Iโm primarily known for my signature art style, with a focus now on acrylic paint and dynamic abstracted realism. My work is graphic and almost pixellated, but unlike a digital artist, my work is rooted firmly in my fine arts background. My designs
maintain a complexity in their rendering.
One of the things that I believe is necessary to consider is location and the use of space. I think that the artwork chosen should be appropriate for the building and fit into the infrastructure. I like to reflect the industrial nature of human-made outdoor spaces in the artwork with my art style, where I make use of hard edges and graphic shapes, fully integrating the work with its location. I think that paintings with a style that blends with hardscaping creates visual balance.
Because my primary art discipline keeps me in my studio, working at large scale is an awesome contrast. To keep murals in line with my studio work, I create medium-sized hand-painted compositions to plan my larger works, and reproduce them at full scale. I feel that this process helps me to marry my passions together and connect my solo personal work with the work I share with
the world.
