My name is Caroline, 36 years old, also known as ShupaOne, I’m French with Vietnamese roots and my hometown is near Paris. I started doing graffiti when I was 17 on railways and warehouses mostly. I only painted letters, even though I loved drawing. I just felt more attracted to the shapes and lines of letters, I had a real passion for Wild Style.
When I turned 19, my style evolved and I was more interested in doing colourful, complicated pieces. Afterwards, I went on with my corporate life and worked in international consulting for 12 years… Sadly, I abandoned my passion for graffiti although I kept drawing in my black book.
After Covid, I decided to return home and get back in touch with my roots. I went back to painting and I felt alive again. I started getting paid gigs, got back in touch with my friends, started painting at various graffiti jams, etc. At some point last year, I felt the need to explore furthermore so I started painting figurative stuff. It was something that was on my mind for a very long time but I didn’t have enough faith in me to do so.
Everything fell into place: I quit my job, opened an art studio and I am one of the lucky ones who works full time as an artist. Today, I paint massive murals (150 square meters on average) for companies and public organisations. Some of my clients include the French government, Samsung, Red Bull, etc.
However, my deep love for graffiti and human connections remains at the heart of my activity. This is the reason why I continue to search for graffiti festivals, where I can meet fellow artists, share my passion, and learn from others.
