Shane “Smae” Pilster is an artist, muralist, designer, illustrator, and educator working from within graffiti culture and the discipline of spray paint. His work is rooted in lettering, color, and a deep respect for the history and craft of aerosol art.
Through his studio, Do What We Love, he creates large-scale murals, installations, and design projects across civic, cultural, and commercial spaces while continuing to paint within graffiti culture itself. Pilster developed and led the Graffiti Arts Program at Rivers of Steel for over a decade, helping bring writers and influential artists from across the graffiti world to paint, teach, and connect with new generations.
His work moves between graffiti productions, public murals, and collaborative projects, carrying the language of style writing and aerosol technique into new spaces while staying grounded in the culture it comes from.
