MEDO | Paulo Ricardo da Silva
Paulo Ricardo da Silva, known artistically as MEDO, is a Brazilian visual artist from Limeira, São Paulo, with a career spanning over 22 years in graffiti and visual arts. A graduate in Visual Arts from FAAL (Faculdade de Administração e Artes de Limeira), he has developed a signature style that bridges urban culture and contemporary geometric abstraction.
His work is rooted in “Wildstyle”—a defining characteristic of his graffiti background—transforming letters, lines, and fragments into dynamic, abstract compositions with strong visual impact. His art is recognized for its use of saturated colors, geometric shapes, layering, and fragmented structures, all while exploring movement, rhythm, and perception.
Beyond his artistic practice, MEDO is an active art educator and cultural producer; he has conducted graffiti workshops and projects in over ten Brazilian cities, engaging children, teenagers, and diverse audiences. Throughout his career, he has participated in social, educational, and cultural initiatives in partnership with public institutions, social organizations, schools, and cultural projects.
His career includes participation in exhibitions, art salons, festivals, and graffiti gatherings both in Brazil and abroad—notably Meeting of Styles in Lima, Peru (2015) and Rio Grande, Brazil (2016)—thereby expanding his presence within the urban art circuit.
His most recent international experiences include participating in the “Arte para Todos, com Todos” (Art for All, with All) exhibition at the European Parliament, as well as projects and an artist residency in Lisbon, Portugal, and an artist residency at Cour des Arts in Hannut, Belgium.
In 2026, he participated in the 2nd Yolanda Penteado Week in Leme (São Paulo), creating an abstract mural measuring approximately 225 m² and conducting a workshop focused on graffiti aesthetics and abstraction. With a trajectory bridging urban art, geometric abstraction, education, and culture, MEDO pursues ongoing research into the transformation of graffiti language into contemporary art, bringing his visual identity to murals, canvases, exhibitions, artist residencies, festivals, and cultural projects in Brazil and abroad.
