My name is Emilio Lopez, I’m a 23 year old cartoon artist with roots from Germany and Guatemala. I used to live in Italy but I moved in Brussels some years ago.
My art is a blend between cartoons, videogames, with characters often surrounded by a dystopic and apocalyptic environment, sending out a message on how destruction equals creation.
My art inherently has political messages, sometimes subtle, sometimes head on and satirical, but always focus on an anarchic mentality.
When it comes to graffiti, I like to paint big chunky letters with broad outlines and high color contrasts. I usually put my puppet as the “O” in Monkey Boy (often shortened with MONKY). I use the main elements of my art and re-adapt them into a cartoonish and stylish graffiti piece.
