Julian Schimanski, better known by his stage name Mister Oreo, is a key figure in the German street art scene. Born in 1987 in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Dinslaken, he discovered his passion for urban art early on. The streets of his hometown served as his canvas and as a place to find inspiration, which would significantly shape his artistic career.
As a graffiti and portrait artist, Mister Oreo has made a name for himself far beyond local borders. His works are known for the unique fusion of photorealistic portraits with abstract and graphic elements. His style is particularly characterized by the doubling of image components and classic blurring techniques, a homage to canvas painting techniques.
In 2012 he founded the collective “Urban Arts Dinslaken”, which established itself as a platform for urban art and cultural exchange in the region. His work and commitment to the street art community was honored in 2016 when he was nominated for the prestigious North Rhine-Westphalia Culture Prize.
Mr. Oreo’s works can be seen at numerous prestigious festivals in Europe. He has showcased his artistic flair at the “Meeting of Styles” in countries such as Germany, Spain, Kosovo, Italy and Greece and has also been represented at the X Static Festival in Croatia, the Ghms Festival, Wright Festival in Germany, as well as “Kunst statt Leerraum”.
In addition to public appearances, Mister Oreo’s art has also been presented in several exhibitions. His notable shows include the solo exhibition “Children of the Night” at Galerie 1 null 7 in Gelsenkirchen and participation in a group exhibition at Fort A in Minden.
Mister Oreo’s oeuvre also includes abstract photorealistic images, which he describes as depicting “moody situations”. These works demonstrate a deep engagement with mood and atmosphere, offering the viewer space for personal reflection and emotion.
His continuous pursuit of innovation and expression has made Mister Oreo a valued member of the art world, whose influence and works continue to fascinate a wide audience.
