My name is Rayssa Medeiros, and I am a self-taught visual artist who signs my work as **me.rabisque**. I began my artistic journey at the age of 16, when I first explored drawing through a course offered in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil. Since then, I have developed my artistic practice by exploring different visual languages and mediums. I started with watercolor and, more recently, discovered a stronger affinity for large-scale surfaces, such as the walls and facades of the city.
My work has gained recognition in the urban art scene, particularly in graffiti and mural painting. I participated in the 1st Agreste Women Graffiti Artists Meeting, held in Caruaru, Pernambuco, and was selected as one of the artists for the 7th Ruaz Crew International Graffiti Festival in Teresina, Piauí. I am also part of the (R)existO! project, organized by the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), which promotes research and initiatives in contemporary art. In João Pessoa, I have contributed to events such as Laboratório de Rua, created by graffiti artist Pri Witch, and participated in an edition of Cores Femininas, in Recife, Pernambuco.
I won the 7th “Cassiano” Wall Graffiti Art Competition, promoted by the Government of the State of Paraíba. This achievement strengthens my artistic journey and reaffirms my commitment to art as a tool for transformation, expression, and dialogue.
I see graffiti, street art, and urban interventions as powerful ways to democratize access to culture and transform the meaning of shared spaces. As a restless artist, I seek to occupy new territories, learn through collective exchange, and build connections through art. My journey remains an ongoing process, driven by passion, experimentation, and a commitment to the community around me.
Participating in events beyond the territory where I grew up and established my roots offers an opportunity to expand my artistic references, share experiences, and establish new connections. I believe these encounters enrich my artistic practice and contribute to the growth of my career as a graffiti artist.
