Mari Monteiro is a Brazilian visual artist and graffiti writer active since 2015. Her practice centers on calligraffiti, a visual language that merges calligraphy, gesture, and abstraction, transforming writing into movement and spatial presence within the urban environment.
Her work is marked by the occupation of walls and public spaces, creating compositions driven by rhythm, color, and energy, engaging directly with architecture and the dynamics of the city.
She has participated in festivals and developed urban interventions across Brazil and in countries such as Chile, Peru,Cuba, Colombia, and Argentina. She is also one of the organizers of Projeto Grafitar, an initiative dedicated to promoting graffiti among women and LGBTQIA+ communities, fostering artistic education and strengthening the urban art scene and independent cultural production.
