MANIOK โ An Artist Blending Humor, Culture, and Street Art
Originally from New Caledonia, Mila, also known as Maniok, first built a career in international trade before fully embracing art in 2023. Her style merges Caledonian influences with inspirations gathered from her travels in New Zealand, Australia, Kuwait, Mexico, and Europe. Infused with humor and a distinct touch, her work plays with cultural references and wordplay to surprise and entertain.
Maniok expresses herself through multiple disciplines: Illustration, creating custom designs for businesses / Kagu, her brand of textiles and souvenirs, which puts a fun and quirky spin on Caledonian culture.
Since 2024, she has been actively developing her work in graffiti, training alongside local artists like Kuby and Reies. This medium allows her to explore new creative dimensions, from large-scale murals to urban interventions. She is also learning tattooing, expanding her artistic reach even further.
Constantly seeking new ways to experiment, Maniok brings spontaneity and character to her creations, whether on paper, fabric, or walls.
