Juliana Grenfell, known artistically as Jugrenfell, is an architect, urban artist, muralist, and aspiring poet. She holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from FAU-USP (University of São Paulo) and studied Graphic Arts at Senai Theobaldo De Nigris.

In 2019, she began creating urban artworks through muralism and the graffiti movement. She has participated in events and festivals across Brazil and in Colombia, where she took part in the *Ecos de la Tierra* Festival at the El Hormiguero Foundation in Medellín. She painted her first large-format mural (on a windowless building facade) under the name “JU-BARTE” for the “Aqui é Noiz por Noiz” project (2024) in Perus—an unsponsored initiative by the cultural production company ADZ Prod.

Currently, she explores feelings and relationships that present the feminine as a space of sanctuary. She is interested in examining points of tension surrounding the naked female body—an image frequently depicted by male artists in museums. She seeks to shift this gaze by bringing the body of the “muse” into the public sphere, displaying female bodies painted by another woman.

Since resuming her artistic practice, her work has incorporated marine animals and cetaceans—with the whale serving as a primary symbol—to explore the relationship between these animals and their environment. Marine elements emerge as connectors for an identity that translates abstract, profound themes in a dreamlike way: transformation, meditation, healing, reproduction, individuation, suffering, and regeneration—all viewed through a fluid perspective rooted in the aquatic realm.
