Between paper and wall, urban art and comics, fEOFLIP is the alias that accompanies this painter born in Lanzarote. There, on a skate and with sprays in his backpack, he began his journey at the end of the 90s, until in 2000ยดs he made his first complete piece.
Painting at that time did not have any type of recognition or support, so the night and clandestine interventions became the modus operandi of his alter ego. He soon escaped the typographies of graffiti to use the tools as a catapult of social criticism and expression. Taking advantage of different formats for its pieces such as electricity boxes, telephone booths, containers, demolished walls, scrapyards and all types of garbage.
Between the years 2005 -2011 Fran Feo left the Canary Islands to study Fine Arts.
Barcelona, โโGalicia, Greece. . . These are some of the places where he began to sign his pieces as fEOFLIP, developing his activity on the street and collaborating with various social movements by creating murals, screen printing workshops, fanzines, advertising piracy, banners and performances.
In those years a message and concept germinated that can be seen indirectly in his works. From the theme to the way of working with recycled materials, mimicking their works in the urban environment and generating a dialogue with architecture and the public.
fEOFLIP’s work makes us navigate science fiction, surrealism and comics, each piece takes on a life of its own and becomes a bottle with an encrypted message drifting in public space.
Avoiding repetitive formulas, each work has a life of its own while preserving a common technical characteristic;
a desaturated palette and the use of fine broken and noisy lines with the spray.
