Andrea Ranieri, also known as “Emeid,” is a self-taught artist born in Augsburg, Germany, in 1985. In 1996, he
relocated to the Abruzzo town of Ortona (CH), Italy, where he currently resides and works. Displaying a passion
for drawing from a young age, he specialized in creating portraits over the years.
His early foray into graffiti occurred in the 2000s when he became involved in the breakdance world. For six years,
he was a member of the group “Rapidi sul Marmo,” igniting his passion for graffiti within this context.
In 2005, Emeid began crafting hand-painted t-shirts and concurrently learned woodworking in his father’s
carpentry workshop. There, he dedicated himself to producing various wooden supports for his artistic endeavors.
Emeid’s artworks convey messages with a satirical-ironic backdrop, exploring daily paradoxes and critiquing
rusty systems originating from apathetic minds. His intention is to prompt viewers to pause and reflect on their
own weaknesses.
His portfolio includes numerous works on walls across different Italian cities. Notably, in 2016, he received the
“Contemporary Portraits” award at the Cascella Museum in Pescara for his piece titled “Porta Pazienza,” delving
into the theme of man’s relationship with the surrounding society.
Emeid actively showcases his works in group and solo exhibitions, both in public and private venues.
He frequently participates in live painting sessions at various artistic events.
In 2015, he established his studio in the Terravecchia area of Ortona (CH) and, in July 2016, initiated the
annual painting event “Orme d’arte” in the historic center of Ortona. This event attracts numerous artists each July.
From April 23 to May 21, 2022, Emeid exhibited his solo collection titled “Empty Choices” at the Heart Gallery
in Teramo.
Continuously seeking new ideas, Emeid experiments with them daily in his artistic practice.
