South Central Los Angeles based Graffiti Artist, ZUCO, has been honing his skill in the South Central LA streets since 1990. Locally beautifying the streets and painting murals on walls, he tried to curve the gang graffiti. He used his graffiti murals to try and uplift his harsh and violent community. Many residents took notice and expressed their gratitude. Originally started as a skateboarder in 1986 to avoid the gang life and incarceration or death he sought better for himself. After being shot in the back at the age of 18 on April of 1992, one week before the Rodney King Riots. ZUCO began taking graffiti art more serious and skateboarding less serious, because of the back injury from the gunshot. ZUCO used all of the discipline and creativity of Skateboarding to influence his color schemes and letter styles to incorporate into his graffiti murals.
Through out his graffiti career he received an Associateโs Degree in Graphic Design, was published in the book called โGraffiti LAโ by Steve Grody and lectured a Masters Program Class in Graffiti Art at Cal State LA. ZUCOโs evolution as a graffiti writer came to a realization that the writing on the walls had a direct association to letter sign painting. AERO SIGNS was born in 2015 and is still in business today with ZUCO as active owner.
