H.SKULLS

H.SKULLS is a Dutch streetartist based in Brussels.
His inspirations come from graphic design, cartoons, videogames, the visual world of the 80/90s, the hip-hop movement, rave parties, skateboarding and street culture in general.
Whether it’s illustrations, lettering or pixels style, his paintings and drawings often communicate through cartoon-styled forms and characters (the best-known being “Blockhead” and “Hipsterskull”). In recent years his work has become increasingly cut-out, mixed up and zoomed in, moving towards abstract art. Coming from a fast paced graffiti background, he now enjoys taking the time while painting a fresco or canvas, even though quick urban interventions remain an integral part of his approach.
H.SKULLS is often teamed up with DIGII5 to create puzzled, retro futuristic works together.
