Barbara Hionides

Barbara Hionides (b. 1990) is a first-generation Greek-American multidisciplinary artist and muralist. She started oil painting under the guidance of Athanasios Stathakopoulos while growing up Greece at the age of 7. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Design and Art History from Drexel University in Philadelphia. While in university, she experimented with community-centered street installation, complementing the rich street art scene of Philadelphia and New York. In 2019, while teaching art at The Foundation Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, she began her practice as a street artist, leading to her participation in the annual “Few and Far Woman’s Crew” mural production in Wynwood, Miami in 2020,2021, and 2022. Barbara maintains a studio practice and runs a gallery called Untitled Art Space in Jacksonville, Florida. Her work varies from themes of Greek diaspora, surrealistic imagery, and interactive installation using technology and 3D materials.
