Shauna Anseo is an Irish muralist and street artist based in London whose works explore light, storytelling, and belonging. Her murals sit between portraiture and mythmaking, using painted light both as an aesthetic moment to draw the viewer in and as a way to reveal narrative.
Her current body of work, Myths & Legends, reimagines folklore and oral history through a contemporary lens. Each mural translates a regional story using modern figures who feel both dreamlike and recognisable, ordinary people rendered as archetypes. Shauna is drawn to myths because they are both hyper-local and universal: every place has its own version, yet the same symbols repeat across cultures. Through these paintings she traces how people define themselves through story, and how those stories evolve over time.
Storytelling, written in light.
