My name is Emilce Ibarra, mostly known as Emily Rope. I am a self-taught painter, craftmaker, digital illustrator and hand-poke tattoo artist currently settled in Belgium
10 years ago, I left my homeland in Argentina to travel around the globe. I have been to many countries in Latin America, Asia and Europe finding inspiration, learning about nature and its healing powers, sharing knowledge with locals and wanderers and working with my art.
The experience of psychedelic rituals -specially ayahuasca- have served me as a huge inspiration to my work and my journey through self-healing.
I like creating provocative images that invoke both enlightened and dark stories. I find beauty in our attempts as humans to deal with the magnificence of nature.
I find pleasure in the contradictory, the weird, the “forbidden” aspects of life.
